I saw the above jacket in the J. Crew catalogue and about died. I have no real NEED for a pink coat, but holy gorgeousness Batman, do I want it (also those shoes, while we’re at it). I, like my mother, have a serious obsession with coats. Perhaps it’s genetic. Here in New England it’s easy to justify having more than necessary because for about 5 months out of the year that’s almost all people see you in! I need to edit my closet out and donate some older coats so I can make room for a couple new beauties. So I pulled together some of my fave coats right now, by type, so you can join me in my hunt for some new gorgeous toppers! ‘Tis the season, folks!

Faux Fur & Shearling: 1. // 2. // 3. (a very convincing faux!) // 4. // 5. // 6.
Down & Puffer: 1. // 2. // 3. // 4. (the faux shearling lining looks So cozy & chic!)// 5. // 6.
Twill & Trench: 1. // 2. // 3. // 4. // 5. // 6.
Leather & Vests: 1. // 2. (have & love) // 3. (super convincing faux leather) // 4. // 5. // 6.
Great trendy coats. This helped me to select my favorite coat for this winter. Thanks for inspiration!
All coats are looking stylish. I must try the trench coat, but I found some great designs of leather coats from A1 FASHION GOODS. It seems to be unique and stylish.
Love these! I’ve been considering buying the JCrew Chateau Parka. I didn’t love that one when it first came out a couple of years ago and was wildly popular in the heather grey, but I guess it’s grown on me, and in the burgundy color. Do you think it’s a trendy one that’s phasing out?
Gorgeous jacket! Love the color! The selection looks amazing too!
If I had all the money in the world, which I don’t because I’m between jobs–I would choose Wool # 3 (pair it with a black and white scarf maybe), Wool # 6, Faux Fur #3 and #5, Down & Puffer # 2, Twill & Trench #5 and possibly #6, and Leather and Vest # 6. But alas, with no moola right now–I’ll stick with wearing my husband’s old trench coat that he doesn’t wear anymore because he has a new one.
I have the Mackage mikah coat (black puffer #1) and its my favorite. Its fitted, ultra light and not bulky but boy is it warm. Its pricey, but its definitely earning its keep. I also have the more traditional Mackage black down coat with the deep fur collar (The Kay jacket) but the mikah is my go-to. I also have the Jcrew cocoon coat in beige and fire red (ahem, I may have a coat problem) and I really really want to purchase it in grey but feel utterly silly getting the same coat in 3 colors even though it fits me so well. If you’re partial to mackage coats, check out Soya and Kyo, its another coat label under the general Mackage umbrella with a slightly lower price point.
Hi – Great coats! Can you please provide the link for the first puffer? I love it and the link is loading the first twill jacket instead :-/ Thank you!
Sorry! Fixed it! https://rstyle.me/n/b4gm4nnxe6
I was just thinking I’m not a “coat” person … but I can count five very different styles of coats in the hall closet that I absolutely NEED. I’m not even counting casual jackets. Yes, I do have a pink coat. Hot pink to be exact. And I always get compliments when I wear it.
I was also thinking I only wear coats with hoods but over half don’t have hoods. And I actually have six (maybe seven) coats in the closet.
And this is after I’ve recently sent coats to consignment. I might need a coat intervention.
JCrew coats are 30% off right now, just sayin! :)
#6 Nordstrom’s has a stadium coat by Ellen Tracy for 195.00, I bought the Apple Green , change from my mostly black coats.
Love this post, I have a thing for coats as well, but I live in California, so we don’t get the use like you do back east. I had my eye on a pink coat for this year too. I don’t need another coat, but a pink coat would be so cute!!
These are some great picks!
Would you mind updating the link for the first ‘Down and Puffer’ jacket? It is hyperlinking the first twill jacket instead (which I think is missing a link). Your fashion picks and insight is always spot on.
FIXED! Sorry- find it here: https://rstyle.me/n/b4gm4nnxe6
Please don’t take this the wrong way, but this post isn’t about ‘coats for everyone’ – it’s coats for women who generally wear sizes 0-12, 14-16 if you’re lucky.
That said, I love the idea of this post – I love coats as much as a straight sized woman, so I’d love to see you include a wider variety of sizes (including plus sizes!) in your Fashion Friday posts. Particularly because I really like your style and would love some style suggestions for women of size.
Ill take one of everything, thanks! Though, not sure I’ll need any of them as its still in the 80s in St. Louis. Record-settimg heat for sure. So scary.
The pink coat at the top is making me giggle. Don’t get me wrong – it’s gorgeous! But I tried on a pink belted wrap coat recently, and it reminded me of the fuzzy pink bathrobe I had as a 13 year old. I ultimately bought the coat in a light gray and I’m loving it. I think with the pink coat above, the zippers and buckles make all the difference!
This coat roundup is timely for sure – It’s getting colder in Toronto and I should a new down jacket as my last parka is falling apart. I wish I had the storage for variety, but my little downtown flat only has coat hooks at the door and a small bedroom closet. I can dream!
That pink is so gorgeous. I am really on the fence between pink and red. I am very much an ex-NYCer wearing black with black with black, but I’d love to add color with a coat that’s good for fall/spring, when you don’t want something too heavy or with fur trim. But the minimalist/environmentalist/cheapskate in me wants ONE, not many. Pink? Red? ARGH.
And those shoes made my eyes pop out. Very cute. I love the “leopard” and the chunky heel!
GET THE PINK COAT. Seriously. I bought one from BR waaaay back when I was in college (ca. 2002) and wore/wear the heck out of it. I get so many compliments on it and a classic wool coat is timeless!
I would love to get the scoop on how j crew ties their belts in such a fun way – shown in the pink wool coat photo. How about a post on how to get the “j crew look” with accessories (belts, scarves, jewelry etc)?
Your new line got a shout out on today’s post at https://thezhush.blogspot.com/
coats and jackets (and beanies!) are kind of my favorite. living in minnesota it’s pretty much a prerequisite! good roundup!
