Our New Office Bathroom!

Our new, bigger, better space is under construction and we will be moving in middle of this month (we hope). While planning the space we realized we had to completely renovate the bathroom studs in on the QUICK, which meant sourcing items that were in stock or quick ship. We turned to Designer Bath in Beverly, MA to help us source great looking items that we could get speedily.  They carry a lot of the brands we work with on a daily basis for clients, so while I was familiar with a lot of the lines, I had no time to get this all scheduled on my own. So the showroom manager Robin stepped in a coordinated the whole order for me and everything has arrived on time.  Before we start installing the pretty stuff I wanted to share the design concept with you!

The bathroom is small and windowless so I wanted to keep it bright, clean but with a SMIDGE of drama. :) One wall of the space is brick (11.), which will be painted Sherwin Williams Greek Villa (the whole entire office will be painted that color, actually), so for the other walls I wanted to use a really fantastic paper (3.), which is Miles Redd for Schumacher’s Brighton Pavilion in the grey colorway.  I love the traditional pattern, but the modern funkiness this paper will create.  And it’ll go well with our goregous flooring (again, throughout the whole space) which is this vinyl plank from Lowes (12.)

I chose a sleek white 36″ vanity (5.) to compliment the paper and floor, but plan on swapping the hardware for this really cool campaign style set (7. knobs and backplate).  I think this will give it a slightly more traditional flair, but in a modern way. We chose to use the Cararra top (9.) and rectangle undermount sink from the same vendor to keep things easy (plus, they look awesome).  The American Standard Town Square toilet is one of the best looking options out there- yes, there ARE pretty toilets!  We did polished nickel not only because it works so well with the paper, but also because antique brass finishes are never in stock.  If planning to use any satin or antique brass plumbing fixtures in a bath renovation be prepared for the 6-8 week lead times!  Speaking of that, the faucet we chose was Brizo’s Baliza (8.) with the cross handles in polished nickel- a great mix, again, of traditional and modern. We ordered matching hand towel ring (4.) which I plan to top with some nicely monogrammed handtowels.  Hey, a nice work space is great for morale- and that includes the bathroom! :)  To top it off we chose one of my FAVORITE sconces, the Hudson Valley  Logan (2.) in polished nickel (the brass version is amazing too).  I am still slightly undecided about the mirror- I may use a vintage one I have or this Anthro one (1.) I have liked for a while.

And where we stand construction-wise as of last week!

This space is in the “back room” which needed to have a drop ceiling.  So I found some relatively attractive drop ceiling tiles at Lowes that look slightly like a paneled ceiling. :)  Better than the old stuff, right?
