I’ve mentioned before that when pondering creative careers earlier on in life I seriously considered becoming a wedding planner. I absolutely LOVE every aspect of event planning- from the fashion right down to the paper goods. So I had some fun today styling a wedding look for a pretty spring/ summer event from the bride down to the guests! I hope you enjoy it (especially those planning their own celebrations!)
I am obsessed with Lela Rose’s bridal gowns, and this one does not disappoint. Simple, elegant and a forever classic it provides simplicity but drama (hello- check out the back of it below!) I;d pair it with light blue shoes (as a fun “something blue”) and statement vintage inspired chandelier earrings and a sleek updo. A white/green/blue-grey bouquet wrapped in hand-dyed silk ribbon adds a pretty pop of color. For the groom, an impeccably tailored navy suit and striped tie does just fine. Maybe add a pocket square for a bit more “fashion”. :)

For bridesmaids I still LOVE the look of a fun ballroom skirt paired with a cashmere tee and big statement necklace. Fun, adorable and easily wearable again. For groomsmen I love the chambray color suits with navy ties to set them apart from the groom but still relate beautifully.
MAIDS: Skirt // cashmere tee // necklace // earrings // heels
GROOMSMEN: Suit jacket // suit pants // shirt // tie // shoes

i have a black tie wedding near asheville, NC and need something to wear to a party the night before and the wedding….
i actually wanted to wear the ball skirt, but can’t find a top appropriate for my age.
Either it’s the wedding gown or the way it sits on the model but it seems to accentuate broad shoulders and a thicker waist giving it a Caitlyn Jenner masculine look from a distance. Not a very flattering feminine look first glance. I do love the blue color suit selection for the groom. How do you decide whether to choose brown or black shoes to compliment the look?
Where are the flower girls? Need some ideas for those!
I totally agree with the wedding planner idea! I planned my daughter’s wedding last fall and loved every. single. minute. of all the details and fun. I hated when it was over because I thoroughly enjoyed it! Love your ideas!!!
Another source you may want to check out is Online TJ Maxx. Just got the Parker Alina dress in blue there for $100, regularly $400! Reminds me of a dressier version of the Kate spade yellow dress above a little bit. Continue to love FF. You always knock it out of the park!
