I am crushing hard on the bohemian yet ladylike style of jewelry designer Rebecca de Ravenel. She seems to be that kind of girl that just effortlessly is cool. From her earrings to her homes, she’s just unique and fabulous.

I mean, look at this whole situation happening below….

The art, the dress, the messy bun- it’s all working for me.

She makes these crazy huge yet cool earrings called Les Bonbons.
I mean, how chic is this woman?
And she likes dogs, so bonus brownie points for Rebecca.
Her home in Los Angeles is pretty amazing (as seen in Domino). Again that hard to nail combination of laid back, funky and yet old school preppy.
Her friends all rock her wares and look cool doing it too.
Her New York apaertment looks more like an island getaway.
Clearly she likes blue as much as I do.
Her Les Bonbons earrings are available on her site and Moda Operandi
But if these are TOO much for you, there are plenty of other statement earrings to try. It’s one of my favorite fast glam-me-up fixes– , dry shampoo, pull dirty hair into a sleek bun or twist and add big fun earrings and sunnies and DONE. I seem to be doing this a lot lately. Also, long statement earrings not only look amazingly perfect with this seasons must have off the shoulder blouses, but they are slimming and flattering to the face too! Try it!!!

A lot of you asked about my earrings in this Instagram post (and actually the bottom of mine is flipped and wonky here, but whatevs- a prime example of how good earrings and sunglasses conceal a seriously hot mess). They are old Ann Taylor, but I found some from Baublebar that are VERY similar (and gold to boot!)
(Sunnies are J.Crew)
I have a total “girl crush”.
They are completely sold out on MO but I managed to scoop a pair (won’t arrive until june) in coconut (white). They seem like the perfect earrings to dress up a beach cover up and bring it to dinner.
Beautiful woman with style!
Is Ravenel related to the Ravenel of “Southern Charm”?
Those earrings are gorgeous, and every picture is an welcome for spring!
i am wondering how you feel about earrings like this on a lady of 57?? i would think that there is a reverse proportion on earring lenght vs age…..like how long can i go before i look ridiculous….
attention – she makes a shorter version for us oldsters…crushing hard on these….
I absolutely love everything about this post. I totally think you could make a second part documenting her outfits! I’m in love. Maxi skirts, bold prints etc. She totally inspires me to keep my long hair, even if it’s hard work during the summer (mine is kind of like yours, but a bit crazier)
Anyway, I think this post is so rich! I love it!
I also loved the cakes, amazing!
Thank you!
crushing on her and her los angeles digs! yes please!!
*sigh*…I think some lucky gals like that are just…born that way… LUV the star earrings!! franki
Totally loving all those flowy dresses too!! Any idea where those are from? Love the whole post!
I only like one of her outfits – the leopard print. Gorgeous and sexy . The rest are too prissy –
I love the crazy/fun accessories that 2016 has brought. Totally refreshing and just the right amount of funk!

I love your blog because it is so you. I have always admired your style and your honesty. I realize you cannot do everything. You need to take care of you. However, I would prefer reading one post a week that is totally from you (as you always have done) than read something everyday that an intern had done or helped with. Hope this makes sense. You are this blog. Don’t mess with it! Hugs!
Agreed <3 the best thing of this blog is you!
Don't feel forced to be prolific. We just want to have you (but heathy and happy of course)
That first photo is stunning. And those boho dresses and tassel earrings are so good! Too bad it’s rainy and cold here today, otherwise I’d be all over that look.
Absolutely crushing on Rebecca’s effortless style! Thank you for sharing, saw your IG post earlier this morning and had to go follow her immediately! :-)
Love the bonbons and no calories!
I have a pair of Les Bonbons in navy and love them. They are incredibly light and beautifully made!
Gorgeous earings, gorgeous lady, gorgeous everything! Love her fashion sense, that blue and white polka dress is incredible. Do you have any idea where from?
I’m thinking of Paloma Picasso and Frida Kahlo (sans unibrow)
She makes her look and her home look effortless, but we all know it takes a great deal of style and finesse to pull this look off and do it well. I am a true believer that the Boho chic look has to be your innate style, if it is not in you naturally it is hard to pull off without looking contrived. She is a natural Boho Chic lady!! Loved this post. It is a great post to study all the elements and how she pulls it together. Thanks for sharing her talents with us.
YOU, my dear are adorable! Never doubt that!

Wow! Her LA pad is beyond! Some of her decor finds are insane! Love the color and pattern play interspersed with her eclectic treasures, art and arrangement!
Bravo!!!!
Nobody is “effortlessly cool”. A lot of work goes into looking “natural”, an “this old thing? I just grabbed it out of my closet”. A swan on top and a lot of heavy duty paddling beneath.
At least, that’s what I tell myself.
I did pin some photos of her homes. Like you, I’m s sucker for blue and white. I even have a board on Pinterest of just blue and white. Her earrings looked chic but uncomfortably heavy to me . I am getting into tassel earrings. I made myself four pair last week from drapery style trim. They are big enough to be statement but light as a feather.
i love fashion Fridays!
lol “a swan on top and a lot of heavy duty paddling beneath” love that
I read these are very light actually- but yes there are some that are SO heavy they make your earlobes look like silly putty.
These pictures are vibing hard on those old pics of Diana Vreeland in her Oriental Room and Talitha Getty in Morrocco in the late 60s. Very boho chic.
PS I wish my totally done looked as good as your hot mess.
Watch out for little hands who like to pull at colorful dangly earrings! ouch!! happy friday :)
I’m not too crazy about Rebecca’s huge earrings, although she looks great wearing them! I love her style though–she’s like a little artsy while still being classic. Just the kind of style I like =)
First off, you look great! Always do – even when you’re a “hot mess.” Question I’ve been meaning to ask for a while, but seems particularly relevant now with everything going on in your life… Have you ever considered hiring an intern to help you with your blog? They could pitch ideas to you, pull images for you to choose from, code the pages and ensure the post gets out each morning, etc. Great experience for someone interested in design/fashion/technology. Blog would still very much be your voice – you’d choose everything, write, etc. Something to consider. I manage a team of 10 at my marketing job. Our outputs are still very much “mine”, but I couldn’t possibly do all the work myself and the team really ads tremendous value with their insights and opinions. A favorite quote from a friend when I was struggling with managing work/home/self: “Staff up. Farm out.” I hired a housecleaner and an intern the next day!
This sounds like the perfect solution for you. You cannot do it ALL – none of us can :) Be kind to yourself.
I am working on a plan for the blog- content creation help, etc. It’s hard though since my blog is SO personal compared to many others. But I do for SURE need help with it.
Love.
