I was so drawn to the cover of Susanna Salk’s new book It’s the Little Things over the weekend while shopping in a small bookshop. The interesting, layered shot is everything I hope to create in a home and so I bought it and poured over it during Henry’s nap. I love the concept of creating little “moments” in your home using unique and storied items. These details truly do MAKE a home. I highly recommend this book for those of you who just love the details aspect of decorating!
I loved this entry- the combination of funky wallpaper with a more traditional, antique dresser is such a great example of mixing textures, time periods and styles.
I decided to interpret it into an easy to re-create version.
wallpaper // sconce // mirror // shell planter // sculpture // bird prints // dresser // wire basket // rug
I really like the rug. Have you purchased from this Etsy shop? How’s the quality?
Must grab my own copy! Great way to recreate the look, I kind of like yours better ;)
I love your interpretation! That wallpaper is gorgeous. Love, love, love!
Oh, I love your selections! It has such a timeless appeal. Nothing obnoxiously trendy.
Gorgeous book and gorgeous interpretation by you of the look!
I admired the cover on your instagram the other day. I love the idea of capturing the moments through our home. I do that in my garden either through the flowers I plant or the color. Nearly all of the blooms represent someone we love, or our love. I have a few things in the house, perhaps I should try more. Thanks for the “pretty” break!
I love this look! love the rustic chest. I have been looking for ideas for my small entryway, I will purchase this book…looks like a very good read. I have been so inspired by your book and blog Erin, thank you for posting this book as too.
Thanks Erin!
I bought the book recently but haven’t had a chance to really look through it yet…now I’m extra excited to sit down with it!
Thank you so much Erin! Your fearless style and energy is exactly why I wrote this book in hopes that everyone will be inspired to layer in personal details no matter where in their home! BTW: so crushin’ on that wallpaper you chose! #yourock -Susanna
I have added it to my list of books to purchase.
Very pretty. That book looks like a relaxing treat.
