Image via Juniper Print Shop – digital art for the Frame download too!
We LOVE our Frame TVs in our house, but I have yet to really have the time and mental capacity to figure out the whole art display thing beyond the free options available. While perusing Etsy the other day for vintage landscape paintings for a client though, I came across a bunch of amazing pieces that are actually digital downloads for your Frame TV! For like, $5, you can download and display such amazing art that will keep your family room from feeling like Netflix central! I’m giving one of these a try this week – but wanted to share some of my favorites. Click images for links.
Absolutely love this idea since tv’s hanging out there are a pet peeve of mine. We will probably be replacing ours within the year and our current cabinet may not work. This is fantastic! Thank you for sharing,
We installed a Frame TV in our bedroom (we’re also in an older home in Wellesley) and are now doing some wiring updates (discovered the wiring wasn’t quite as uniformly updated as we had been led to believe…). Our electrician said that the non-HDMI wire that the Frame requires isn’t wall-rated (our Frame is directly mounted to the wall above a fireplace). Have you found a workaround for this issue? Obviously we could use the non-rated wire we currently have and it would probably be fine, but ideally we’d install the TV in a way that doesn’t create an issue for insurance if something were to happen to our house down the line… hoping you found a solution for your own older home. Thank you!
We have two Frame TVs in our house and had Best Buy install them both. The installer said that unless there is some type of fire tubing to put the wire in OR there is another wire I think you can order from Samsung that is fire rated. Basically if you dont have the fire tubing or the fire wire then Best Buy will NOT put them in your walls at all. The installer said he has seen it 4 times where the insurance is void on your house if they find this out in the event of a fire.
I’ve never heard that- we’ve installed tons of them all wired in the walls and never had any electrician tell us there was an issue.
Erin. You know who owns Juniper right? She’s also an OG blogger. Jenny Komenda of Little Green Notebook. ! You should check out Juniper for your clients.
The subscription is well worth the monthly fee- rotating selection of art from museums all over the world :)
Um, this is super cool and ingenious!! I need to look into this.
Thanks for sharing! We have a Frame TV but have been using the free stock images. Your recommendations are beautiful!
Can you upload your own digital painting?
Yes. I actually have a Samsung 4K tv, that is the same as the Frame tv, except for the click on frames to customize. I have definitely added our own photos to it.
We need to replace our tv in the sunroom, and thanks to this conversation, I’m definitely checking out the option. I’d love to commission an artist friend to create a piece for us. Love your options from Etsy, too, Erin!
Considering all the artists out there who could especially use some $$$ these days and the money your clients spend on the wallpaper, furniture, etc—you are recommending $5 digital landscapes?
Erin shares & supports various artists and their original work often – these are recommendations specifically for the Frame TV, which requires digital artwork/images.
We want a frame but don’t know what to do with the box that comes with it? How did you hide yours? Any suggestions if renovating and not building a new home to incorporate it?
Holy cow, these images look like Corot originals!
WOW! Thank you so much for this tip. We renovated our kitchen this Spring and got a new frame TV and we have no time to figure it out. So we only use a few art images they offer but this is so much better!
WOW !! Who knew…they are really beautiful ! Thank you Erin !
