Another episode of my favorite game— fashion vs. interiors where we compare fashion and home trends (since they are so closely related). Which of these would you prefer?
Sandberg’s Raphael wallpaper OR this Boden dress that has almost the exact same pattern?
A vintage copy of I Married Adventure or a one piece suit in the pattern on the cover?
A gingham ballroom skirt or a gingham roman shade?
Blue chinoiserie lamps and wallpaper or funky mules?
Linear striated marble or earrings in the same pattern?
A striped top and flowy skirt or a fringy blanket?
A fun leopard bikini or chair?
Navy linen striped pants or linen trays?
An (awesome) gold serpent mirror or cuff bracelet.
Fashion examples – I find them better, except for the serpent mirror – it’s marvellous!
On further research I learned those are called ‘verdure’ tapestries. Searching ‘verdure’ wallpaper for fun yielded some really pretty results. Cheers!
I adore that wallpaper and I hope you will offer an opinion: if you had to choose to use it in an entry or a dining room which would you choose? I will also note that when I was at the Nashville Antique and Garden Show I saw several old tapestries (which I’m told were Flemish) with an almost identical pattern and in the same blues and greens. It’s amazing how on trend these ancient tapestries were.
Thanks for your lovely blog!
Great Post! Who is the manufacturer of the wall paper behind the serpentine mirror. Gorgeous
thats so inspired, thank you
I have just been dying over the gingham ball skirt and wondering where I can wear it…
Erin – I HAVE A QUESTION FOR YOU, if you have time to answer…I am thinking you might know it off the top of your head…
What is the best leopard fabric to cover a chair seat in? For a foyer…Nice and warm, but not too orange?
This post just highlights your genius. So awesome.
HONESTLY girl…you DO HAVE THE EYE and that is SO pleasing to me…absolutely luv it!! franki ps the swimsuit/cover
Cool post! But seriously that roman shade is the stuff my #housegoals are made of!

That shower would win my heart (and vote) everyday! ☺️
I would always choose the décor item! Just goes to show that I have very basic clothes in my closet but am always buying something for my house!
Nailed it! I would choose both in every category…wait, that’s not how you play?? (Also thinking about you during Snowstorm WTF…)
What an absolutely delightful post!!!
The Sandberg wallpaper & that leopard chair hard my heart at hello ! Also I’ll be looking for the I Married Adventure book…it even LOOKS divine (book jacket aficionado here :))
Such a clever post, Erin! Impossible to choose though, I’d have one of each…
I’ll take the blue Chinoiserie lamp AND wallpaper AND funky mules!
Awesome comparisons… and..gah! That animal print chair! That print keeps resurfacing (I recommended a similar one to you on insta last week for your office chairs)…. it may be kismet, I need to get something in this print in my home… and somehow sneak it past the masculine-ly esthetic-ed hubs…(though I am sure he’d like the swimsuit version).
very clever post!

Love it all! Love the match of every item!
I’ve been missing these posts! Love them. For me, the flowy skirt.
I love the leopard bikini!
Love the boden skirt and the ball gown, fun post
I love the snake bracelet, but it is out of stock!
I love both in just about every category!!
Can we choose “all of the above”?
That floral wallpaper is so statement and classy
Am I the only one who would ALWAYS choose the items for the home? 😀
Same here! Haha
Nope, me too! As I was going through the list it reminded me just how much I love interiors. I go shopping for a dress for an event, and instead come home with fabric or a lamp!
Ok the toile mules!!! Who are those by?? I need to get those! Love this blog post! 💙
They are linked!
Gah- that gingham ballgown skirt! And those blue mules! For me it’s all about the fashion this spring. Love this post!
