As I mentioned in a previous post, I am all sorts of jazzed about this whole Meghan-Markle-as-Princess situation. I think she is a lovely woman, with smarts and humor and a drive to be more than just a pretty face. The kind ofgal we need more of the spotlight, right? Not to mention she has great style. And while I love me some Kate Middleton, I think Meghan is going to bring a slightly more youthful and fun look to Royal fashion. It’ll be interesting to see how she blends the propriety needed to be a public Royal figure with her own keen LA bred fashion sense!
So todays post is a partnership with Halsbrook, our fourth time doing so, which is so wonderful. And so I thought- wait, their selections are VERY Kate and Meghan! So I created some looks that I think would be fabulous on Ms. Markle–or you!
LOOK 1: An evening look with a dress from Kate-approved LK Bennett. 1. // 2. // 3. // 4. // 5.
LOOK 2: Taking a page out of the Duchess’ playbook, but with a tad more edge to it in the accessories. 6. // 7. // 8. // 9. // 10.
LOOK 3: Business with a little sass. That green croc bag is somethin’. 1. // 2. // 3. // 4. // 5. // 6. // 7.
LOOK 4: Light and casual but always elegant. With touches of cashmere, velvet and pearls. 8. // 9. // 10. // 11. // 12. // 13. // 14. // 15.
LOOK 5: I actually just got this skirt and plan to wear this look to Atlanta Market! This look is classy but modern. 1. // 2. // 3. // 4. // 5. // 6. // 7.
LOOK 6: Proper, but fun with red accents and cropped wide leg pants and heels. 8. // 9. // 10. // 11. // 12. // 13. // 14.
I hope you all have a great weekend prepping for holiday break! I’ll be busy wrapping myself!

I think we also have to remember that Meghan will have much more freedom when it comes to fashion, as well as other parts of her lifestyle. It’s reallt hard to explain to people not from the UK just how restricted Kate Middleton’s choices are – there are so many etiquette rules she has to follow as being much closer to th crown. My hope is that the press doesn’t try to compare them all the time – that would just suck. Women don’t need that kind of focus anymore or ever again.
Just a note to keep up on the clothing posts– I love your taste –that is why I read your blog!
You mentioned the Atlanta Market; could you consider a fashion post on styles for events like that ? I remember your fabulous post about planning for your book tour. Loved it.
Love Meghan! It’s nice that her style is different from, but I think complements Kate, I feel like that makes it easier for both of them!
All these looks are gorgeous…hoping for a post-Christmas sale on that jacket (and that they still have my size!)
I do like Kate but wish her style was more edgy. I think Meghan will bring it!
I love this post. All the outfits are right up my alley. I like to dress smart with an edge. It’s all in the 👠 these are great for outfit inspiration . I really wanted the second black dress with the long sleeves as I’m always cold but sadly it’s sold out already.
Keep it coming!
Love this post! Erin, what is the first black dress (Look #1) in this post? The link is taking me to a page that says it doesn’t exist anymore. Thanks!!
Love her! Can you do a post about what you think her wedding dress will look like!!?? I’m DYING to see it!
Bring it on! I’m expecting to see a Meghan fashion pinterest board soon (haven’t looked, there’s probably one up already!).
I like her style. It’s what I would be wearing if I were young and slim and were engaged to a royal prince.
I adore Meghan! As a big fan of Kate Middleton and admirer of her style, I think it’s great to have a new “role model” per se and fashion inspiration that’s elegant but with a slightly edgier twist.

GOD she’s fun. Like bloody hell, I don’t do this with celebrities but I feel like I’m looking at the most amaze Parisian apartment when I look at her, like grateful she’s in our lifetime? lol #notdramaticatall
I love her and her style and am thrilled about this! Bring on the fashion! Great post. :)
I loved her recent look with the khaki-colored skirt and the black turtleneck. It reminded me so much of Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy but slightly less conservative with the fit and flare silhouette. I’m also guessing Meghan’s style will be a more accessible one for everyday.
Love your picks! Happy Friday!
Yes my first thought was of Carolyn Bessette in the khaki skirt and black turtleneck. Have always loved that combo since.
