top // jeans // turkey platter
More people are able to gather this year for Thanksgiving than the past two, so I think we’re all kind of excited to get back into entertaining (safely, of course). But I do think things can be a little more casual than normal. No need for pomp and circumstance- just wine, turkey and some laughs. So I partnered with Anthropologie to pull together some items perfect for a casual, cozy holiday. I wear jeans 90% of the time, and happily wear them on holidays too. These comfy Mother denim ones above have just the right amount of stretch, and this top is such a perfect fall color with really cool eyelet detail.
turkey platter // cheese knife set
I’m hosting for the first time ever this year, and I had NO turkey plate- and this gorgeous brass toned one really fits the bill (albeit, for a smaller turkey. not a giant one!). And I desperately needed a new cheese knife set, and this simple gold one is also a staple and classic.
Or maybe you wanna go REAL casual (or not entertain at all)? A matching lounge set might be just the thing for apres-socialization OR staying home without anyone :) This one comes in lots of colors and this mug set is our new fave (perfect size, and very natural/ goes with everything)
Some more faves from their site too, click images below.
What are your plans this year? Fancy? Casual? I’m curious as to how you plan to celebrate!

Cute stuff. Where are your shoes from in the top photo? They look great!
I second this comment. I want those shoes…where are they from??
How does the lounge set fit for tall people. I am 5’8” 140 lb and do not like too short of pants
Love the casual vibe…..I have a rule that NO jeans are allowed at my table. NOT this year!!!
Anything goes. Just be thankful that we are together!!! Right??
Might be my new “rule” going forward.

Focus on family. Happiness to all.

I’m with you, Robyn. No jeans allowed, and men’s shirt tails must be tucked in. It’s an easy courtesy to pay to the folks who worked for days to prepare a festive event.
We gave up on the turkey years ago and replaced it with entrées that actually taste good and don’t leave us comatose: standing rib roast or a rich oyster/shrimp Perlou or, my fave for any holiday, grilled lamb. Nom nom! Cheers.
The customer reviews for the mugs are devastating…the handles fall off! I hope people always check customer reviews for products.
Love that blouse you are wearing, Erin! Can you tell me, how does it fit at the chest? It doesn’t look like it comes down too deep or gapes but would love your thoughts. Thanks!
If you need a new mug, please come to my house! They seem to multiply in the cupboard. But, by all means, keep Thanksgiving casual and focus on being thankful.
Good Lord. I love a Mother jean, but if shelling out $200+ for a pair, why on Earth are any of us paying for a compromised pant? I prefer to earn a rip/tear/slash in my clothing and preferably not on a clothing item worn at the Thanksgiving dinner table. I must be getting old.
We celebrate with family a week or so ahead of time so they can visit the rest of their families on T day. On the actual day, we’ll go to a gourmet buffet in our building. All the food (including some leftovers) without the work or cleanup.
