Can you believe it’s already almost AUGUST? I can’t, summer is flying and there is so much yet I still want to do! So when it comes to fashion/ beauty right now I keep things simple. I’m almost always in jeans and some sort of tank or tee and this bag with these selections (above and below in the collage) ready to go. Saks asked me this month to share the essentials I use day in and day out. This tote is new to the rotation, but it’s the perfect seagrass summer tote- it fits enough stuff for work AND on weekends with the kids without feeling super bulky. And I love the little fringe tassel detail!
Here are some more additional items (click for links) with some commentary on why I like each item below:

Luckily all these essentials are available at much better price points from Target, Gap, Macy’s and the like. I could not have afforded these items when I was your age and also have saved for my children’s college educations; nevertheless I was able to dress in an attractive, up-to-date manner for work and casual activities. Styling is much more important than designer names, but thanks for the inspiration.
Everything Erin says in her blogs are for inspiration. That’s the joy about reading blog posts – they’re somebody else’s perspective, which often will be different to your own. If you don’t like expensive designer names, move on. It shouldn’t feel like a personal offence if someone appreciates different things to you, or if they can afford expensive things because they have worked hard to make a name for themselves.
Please don’t visit someone’s domain (virtual or IRL) only to criticize what they do or how they do it. Erin has created a beautiful home and made a fulfilling career while caring for her family and looks great doing it. If you can’t appreciate it, please move on.
I failed to note that the post was sponsored by Saks and I’m aware such sponsorships are crucial to producing and maintaining a blog.
