A few of you asked that I do a post about outdoor furniture after seeing some great items in catalogs you’ve been getting. Well believe me, I get the same ones and was thinking about this too! I want to give my little patio a freshen up for the spring/summer and my new office has a small, narrow urban patio we want to style up as well. So this was needed!
So here are three looks using some of the items I’ve had my eyes on lately- I’d love to know which board is your favorite look?
GLAMOROUS/ FEMININE: I saw these gold daybeds in CB2 and died– and love this look that is glamorous and modern and yet natural and feminine too. Also those Frontgate dining chairs are INSANE for outdoor furniture!

MODERN: Black, white and green– graphic and yet a perfect compliment to nature! I love the black metal sofa and chairs as they are contemporary with a traditional soul. The bistro style loungers are durable and so cool and the ping pong table doubles as a dining table when you take the net off! Genius!

COASTAL: Probably the most popular look for outdoors, blue and white with woven textures and wood is a classic combo! You just can’t go wrong with this look- even if you’re landlocked!

A few tips when buying outdoor furniture:
These are beautiful and so hard to pick a favorite! I’m partial to the Modern look — black and white forever! ;-)
You are a LIFE SAVOR!! Look #1 is so fabulous and I was needing help with mine. You’re blog helps me quite a lot, tbh. Thank you!
Thank you Erin always for your amazing posts. I have been following the blog for the last 8 years since I bought my first house.
The first wave of Brimfield is coming up. I was thinking of going and know that is something you’ve posted about in the past. Would you consider a post on how to tackle it as a first-timer??
Would love to see some smaller scale options, including what you’re considering for your studio patio. City living doesn’t accommodate a lot of these suggestions.
Ummm….you’re going to have to put an extension on your patio/deck….how do you decide…they are all so perfect…. franki
Omg I died too!! This brass sectional is toooo pretty! I love all 3 looks!!
Love this post. The third one would be great for our place on the Chesapeake Bay. Have to keep it bare bones though, as we get bad storms frequently….
Love all of these! We have a covered porch I’m trying to update. Curious how you feel about outdoor curtains–are they OK, or do they just get grungy? Thinking about some black and white striped ones to block the neighbors… And yes, those gold CB2 pieces are awesome!
[…] Three Pretty Perfect Porch & Patio Looks! https://www.elementsofstyleblog.com/2017/04/three-pretty-perfect-porch-patio-looks.html […]
I think glamorous is my favorite one. Just wish I had a fun back porch to decorate!
Wow, I love that first one! The third (coastal) is closest to my style and what I currently have, but the first is especially well-designed and striking.
I love the lanterns–a contemporary connection with the past!
All of these ideas are stunning. Personally, I like the third one the best. There is something about the color blue that screams spring and summer to me; perfect for an outdoor space.
Thank you! Just bought our first house – eek – with a porch and was in need of some help as this will be my first priority to enjoy outside during the summer. Will hit up the rest of the blog as I deal with the rest of the house as well ;)
I’m a big fan of indoor/outdoor fabrics around little kids. My stuff survived for years with two high activity grandkids. And a lot of adult parties with messy food like barbecued chicken and ribs. And in and around the hot tub.
I liked all three looks. Clearly I need more patios! But if forced to choose just one, I’d go coastal. My favorite look is one you didn’t post; recycling your grandmother’s patio set and powder coating in black with black and white cushions. Tres chic!
Love these looks, but as a mom of 3 kids and a fur baby, I’d love to see some sets that aren’t all white fabric. Maybe my family is just really messy, but that fabric wouldn’t last one party at my house 😂
Definitely the coastal, as a) the sea is at the end of my road so it just fits well, and b) never could resist the blue and white!!
this post could not be more timely – I was just looking at my backyard and wondering what to do with it! Those pottery barn urns are giving me a French countryside idea- love them! But that gold daybed is seriouslg ammmazing!! Such good finds!
Sending good vibes to your mom + family today!
