My Patio Update with Frontgate!

Since we are eating at home all the time, I thought it was time for a comfortable, slightly bigger outdoor dining set.  We previously had my grandmother’s vintage Brown Jordan bamboo set (which is going into storage until we get a bigger house because I LOOOOOVE that set, it’s just too small for our needs right now). I was very lucky that right when I had made this call, Frontgate reached out about partnering on some outdoor furniture content. DIVINE INTERVENTION.  I’ve worked with Frontgate many times before (on the Hampton’s Showhouse and Atlanta Showhouse patios) so I knew that they were excellent and their products super well made. Not to mention right now outdoor furniture is 25% off and everything else is 20% off!

To start, I chose this classic teak expandable dining table. It’s the perfect weathered finish and totally flexible size-wise depending on where we end up living in the next couple years – but closed it actually works on our small patio! There is also a brass trimmed umbrella hole that has a matching wood cap to cover in when not in use. I LOVE these woven bistro chairs and think they look so perfect paired with this table (plus are really comfortable).  They come in a few different colors and are on sale for just under $350 a pair!

When setting the table for outdoor dining I like to use a mix of melamine pieces and regular glassware/ flatware so it feels rich but is also safer for family mealtime. These melamine dinner plates are classic and simple and look like pottery. I like the weight of timeless silver flatware that is still dishwasher safe (not a fan of plastic flatware) and a painted ceramic wine bucket is a nice addition to keep the rosé cold while avoiding a back and forth to the fridge. These linen monogrammed stripe border napkins are adorable and great given the current shortages of paper goods (also much greener). While I do have acrylic glassware, I usually use glass for the adults (blue goblets here) Feels nicer, no?

You can see how nicely everything works with my existing patio furniture. :) This whole set up makes me so happy, especially while stuck at home more often than normal.

My sofa and chairs are Restoration (sofa, in sky blue Perennials // chairs (fabric discontinued)). To get the look of my patio and furniture from Frontate’s sale, here is a guide:

The coffee table I have is no longer made, but (3) this one is similar to what I have, just a slightly more intricate base. This one is VERY similar in shape and leg, but a darker wood finish on top. We have a (1) little ceramic garden stool like this one next to the sofa on the far side, and a metal drum table (6) like this one between the two striped chairs.  I do want to get a (4) simple firepit like this one for the summer so that we can roast marshmallows with Henry (no one loves a good marshmallow more than my boy!)  My sofa and chairs are from Restoration, but these alternative (5) chairs and  (2) sofa are available in lots of fabrics and colorways. My pillows are both no longer available but this (7) navy border pillow is similar and (8) this outdoor pattern looks great with everything else!

On the back steps, my large blue and white planter is from Frontgate a couple years ago (no longer on the site), but the two sizes of these small and large planters are similar. (Tip: when dealing with really large, heavy planters buy a bunch of big bags of ping pong balls to fill the bottom before putting in your soil for drainage without any added weight. Works wonders!)
