ACK-spirational Living: Hawthorne Park
Nantucket happens to be one of my favorite places in the world. I always refer to it as Disneyland for adults–it’s almost too perfect and cute to be real. The design inspiration I pull from the island and the insanely gorgeous homes, new and old, that populate the island. Today I get to share with you a GORGEOUS new development of homes on the island that I am pretty obsessed with (mark this down as LIFE GOALS, y’all).
Hawthorne Park is a one of a kind project of 17 homes set around a private three acre park, improved with walking paths, sitting areas, and fabulous common amenities including a gym, pool, spa and yoga deck. Four different home types (Barn, Cottage, Farmhouse, Homestead– see more below for illustrations) and architectural landscaping were informed by a Malibu surf meets Nantucket farm inspiration. The goal behind the project was not to deliver just another set of homes but rather to capture and accentuate a lifestyle. I think they were very successful in meeting that goal!
This is a design collaboration between Blue Flag Development & Award-Winning Architect Workshop/APD. Blue Flag Development has a reputation for building high-caliber homes with an intense focus on all of the design details. Their past projects (Tidewater Cottages & Union Lights) showcase their thoughtful work.
This development is out towards the highly desirable area of Cisco on Nantucket. Easy access to town or the brewery, Bartlett’s Farm, Miacomet golf course and some of the best beaches on the island. There are 17 homes available and 3 have already been purchased.

I am so tired of people using words like ‘farmhouse’ and ‘barn’ to describe a style – unless there is an actual farm on the property of course…
Beautiful homes. I like the concept – went to the website to look at the floor plans and see price point. For over $2 million on Nantucket, I would want garage space or proper space on the first floor level for bikes, surf boards, boogie boards, beach chairs, etc – all the outdoor crap that is part of being on Nantucket has no space. Also, without a garage, really hard to have an iconic Nantucket ride such as a Jeep or Defender (someone in this price point will likely get one of these). In general, you would want to be able to store at least one vehicle. They would make good rentals – may not be allowed per HOA…. Awesome aesthetic design – thanks for sharing.

These are beautifully done, and although I hate to be anti-change, I have to say, a development like this on such a historical island makes me sad.
That was my first thought. I spend a few weeks every summer on the island and it has gotten so crowded. Though very attractive, definitely does not get me excited!

Someone who came up with such a fantastic idea for the device of this piece of land, a piece of the island was a genius. It looks very nice. I wonder how much it will cost a house when someone finally decides to move out. Not only the interiors are great but also the image from the outside. I like the design of the barn the most. This space!
