We’re trying to create some more blog “series” these days as we plan a full facelift of EOS, one of which is a High Vs. Low post. I did one recently here, and today decided to create two entryway designs based on a bright, neutral California inspired style. A mix of streamlined classics and textured wovens as well as leather and brass accents. An accent wall of a pretty small scale paper finishes it off.
excellent collection, i am wait for your new book
Love this! I want your hand woven rug by Momeni on Wayfair. I would layer it with my existing 3×5 rug. I’m looking at getting the 5×7.6 to layer, but my entryway is only 8.5×6. Is that too much rug coverage for the space????? I feel like the 3×5 isn’t enough and I love the layering look.
I would love if this became a regular series! I honestly never get tired of high/low posts. :) I also really like seeing how you pull an entire space together like this.
I just finished reading your first book, front to back. I really, really enjoyed it and can’t wait to read the next one!
Fun and educational!! franki
I love the Highvs Low! Keep them coming!! Can’t wait for your new book to come out!!!
Love this idea!! I was looking at your site recently for ideas how to update boring things like door knobs, hardware, lights (love lighting posts), sinks and there are so many options. Would love a high/low on this- kind of like how the previous poster said updating things from Home Depot! Thanks for all of your inspiration!
YES, Erin! Thanks for this – I love the high/low series!
I would love a first hand review on a sisal/natural rug that is soft and doesn’t shed a million tiny fibers all over my house. I swear the one I have from Overstock is trying to murder my poor Roomba. I’m going to drive to the new Ballard flagship store here in Atlanta and shake ALL the rugs! ;)
I would love this post!
Oooo yes, a post about natural rugs would be super helpful.
I just got the jute rug from world market and it’s soft and i’ve noticed minimal shedding
Nice to get my mind off the Nordstrom sale for a minute or two. Love a high low post. More than one path to stylish goal.
Future Fridays: How about a post from your staff on what they’d pick at the Nordstrom sale? Or what they’re wish listing for fall? I’d also like one on how you decide what gets to come home with you. We all (mostly) have limited closet space and we need to make smart choices.
These are great and so helpful. An idea for a future version would be updating a small bathroom using lower-cost materials found at Home Depot. I think you did something similar to this for your basement using materials from Lowe’s. We have a bathroom in our basement that is used primarily for our au pair. Given we are on au pair #6 and the bathroom hasn’t been updated since the 1980s it felt like a good time to give it a facelift and I sourced everything at Home Depot with an idea of making it nice and clean but not going over the top. I was flying blind a bit and bet you would have great ideas for hardware, paint, tile, etc.
This is so good! I love these kind of posts
Love these posts! Reminds me of one of my favorite HGTV shows.–the high low project!
