This morning I was perusing the ARK Elements site (amazing dishes and accents) and saw this image and just LOVED the combination of colors.
The palette kind of reminded me of this Jasper fabric I almost used in Emma’s nursery that I’ve been obsessed with – but is a unique color combination. I thought, perfect time to do another installment of “Pretend Client”- this time a woman in her 40’s who wants a sanctuary of her own to read, watch TV, just be ALONE (sound familiar or enticing to anyone??) :)
So I decided to design a room around the yellow/blue/brown palette. And now I want it for myself, thank you very much. Click Images for links:
*Wall color is Farrow & Ball Oval Room Blue.
I’d love to be the pretend client- so want this room of my own. Beautiful color combination & selections.
I’ll take one of those rooms for myself as well! Adore that colour combination! And, I didn’t expect it. I am a blue person, so much so that I need let it go a bit. Paired with a mustard-like yellow. What a balance. Beautiful.
Love this! I’m in the process of making my own lady den and mine is that color blue with a matching blue sofa–I’m going moody and monochromatic. Perfect for reading!
Oh my gosh you just brought my dream office/chick hideout to life Erin! The colors, the fabric are exactly what’s been living in my head right down to the dark gold velvet sofa and animal
print accent! Love this ❤️
Really beautiful
Stunning, thank you!
That coffee table! love the whole look!
Absolutely love this concept of pretend client!! Can I make a request for a little girl’s room? My daughter is 2.5 and I’m starting to transition out of nursery mode and into “big girl” room. I’m sure Emma’s big girl room will be stunning and very custom, but love that this series has links to retail!
I have the pink rug linked below and white PBK dresser, along with acrylic book shelves, but looking for curtains, fabric/possible wallpaper for window seat & nook.

I also have this light from Horchow which I love !

I love it and I now I want to redo my lady study! Sofa and coffee table are perfection.
BTW…Can you do a fashion blog/rant on the awful fashion that is out there right now for grown ass women? Enough with the flounces and ruffles and Swiss Miss look dresses. I don’t want to look like I’m about to milk a cow or work in a beer garden. Or attending a Cinco de Mayo party. BTW I love a Cinco de Mayo party! I don’t love a lot of pattern and especially all the floral. Too precious. And at the prices for a decent dress $400-1200, I want it to be more of an investment that I can change up with different accessories AND STILL LOVE NEXT YEAR. Please HELP US!! I know you can do it! xoxo
Yes!!! Would love that kind of post!
Absolute love!! franki
Have you used any of the Interior Define sofas in client homes? I love their look and customizability, but the many negative reviews online scare me away.
I saw your comment and thought I would chime in because I have an Interior Define sofa and am very pleased! It’s the English roll arm sofa from The Everygirl collab (the Rose I think). I am not sure of the negative comments your referring to but we have loved it. Great price for us (late 20s, first house), good fabric selections, and the best price for the style I wanted. I will say it’s our living room couch so it doesn’t see the same wear as our den/TV couch. Would recommend!
Sarah — THANK YOU for your insights :)
Oh my gosh I misused your – should be you’re. My pet peeve!!
