Someone posted on my blog or Instagram the other day asking what I REALLY wore during the messy, dreary, cold months of winter. I laughed, because I had just been scrolling Insta looking at some fashion bloggers frolicking around outside during the “bomb-cyclone” winter storm we had– in heeled boots and SKIRTS. Now, I love looking at unrealistic and inspirational images as much as the next gal, but when it comes down to real life, I try to look as pulled together as possible but while also being comfy and warm with dry feet. So here are some looks that I wear during winter when spending the day with Henry or going to a meeting!
I wear jeans 99.9% of the time. To the office, to meetings, out to dinner. When I’m in mom-mode I want to be comfy and able to play int he snow with my little guy. Every year for the past couple years I’ve bought myself a timeless investment piece as my “Chirstmas bonus” to myself– last year it was my watch, this year it was a Moncler puffer coat. It was stupid expensive, but when I saw it it was the perfect color, last one in my size and I just DID IT. And you know what? Best money I’ve spent in a while! I wear it constantly and it is SO light and so friggin’ warm. That said, this Uniqlo version below is SO great too (plus $99 on sale!) Paired with my fave cashmere tee, the BEST jeans for boots (slim enough at ankle to tuck right into boots and warm but cute boots I can move and am comfy but don’t look like a hot mess!

Most days I’m in the office, perhaps with a quick client meeting or trip to the design center. I love my sweater blazers paired with the BEST tee, fave necklace and water-resistant booties (and of course a touch of leopard– this coat is on clearance!)

Dressing up in the winter is so tough– so I like to stick to all black and layer. A cute turtleneck sweater dress with great tights and knee high boots works great for any kind of meeting. I have this coat and it’s to beautiful AND warm.

I saw this jacket the other day and LOVED it, even though it’s a bit bright. This look is one that works great for a not wet day where you want to look fun and funky but ladylike too.
I was a little disappointed to see only one example of your signature leopard print! I read your book in the fall (such a great read!) and felt inspired to try the print. I bought a pair of Rothy’s in a pointy toe flat and absolutely love them. Have you seen them? Thanks for being such an entertaining voice in the industry. Hope you had a great time in Atlanta!
Please post more of your OOTD. I love your suggestions!
Best post, love your style!
Do you carry small handbags and slip into larger totes or do you just use the the large totes? Would love to see some stylish options.
Thanks for all your ideas!
It’s really helpful. All of those coats made me warm enough.
Awesome post, thank you !
I love everything you’ve shown here. It is just my style, excepting the ripped jeans. That colorful coat is fun and would look great over an all black outfit. I’d love to shop with you. What a fun day that would be!
Thank you for being AMAZING! Absolutely love and adore your sense of classic and chic fashion.
All of those coats make me thankful I live in California! ;)
Ok here’s my tip for winter mom outfits: Cuddl Duds!! You can thank me later! So comfy…feels like a second skin.
Definitely not a “hot mess” mom! Stylish but sensible winter wear. Love it. Checked a couple things; fortunately for my New Year resolution of no shopping, everything my size is sold out.
Thank you! Would love if you put together more winter work/office outfits.
Yes! Thank you!!! So helpful! You are always so chic and have such great style!!!
