“Wake me when this is all over” seems to be the undercurrent of reality today. So much tough news day in and out, it makes you want to crawl in bed and remain there, no? So here’s a post inspired by our shared exhaustion – BEDS, and some jammies and little sleep helpers too.
Click images for links except the * bed which is from HERE.
Love your design posts and your impeccable taste. It is evident you are a person who feels very deeply and passionately about life and all of its issues. After following you for several years, I felt the need to comment ….
I agree we must at all times be respectful to each other. In this day and age I find it very sad that everyone feels they have to…need to…should…want..to put their thoughts and spin on everything. Why, I wonder, do we feel this way…..that what I have to say is so important that I need to publish it to the world….If you are my family, my friend, my immediate circle of influence…then yes, we share, laugh, cry, scream ….whatever we want. But in a public forum where all come together to enjoy, learn and experience a moment of peace and beauty….it feels so intrusive to have another’s views on life’s controversial issues inserted. And when stated so strongly, leaves one who might disagree feeling attacked….and if one wanted to be able to respond to the counter of what you said…if feels as if we would be engaging in war….and not open discussion.
This is what is causing such a divide in our world.
Please stay with design…because its what we seek looking at your blog and following you….not personal commentaries on the issues you feel strongly about. I do realize I can choose not to follow you…and I may…but I would feel a loss of a great design inspiration, but at the same time a relief of not having to read, yet again, one more persons need to dump their opinions of the issues on me.
With the kindest regards
Please think about what you are saying to me. I am a HUMAN BEING. You are asking me to change myself to make YOU comfortable with my free content I work to provide. That is truly unfair, mean and selfish. I will continue to write whatever I want, and if you can’t stand hearing other’s opinions that vary from yours- then leave. unfollow. Go follow people who only share what you believe or keep quiet to keep followers. Yes, that choice leaves you missing out on all the other parts of me and what I share you do enjoy, but that’s the cost of being intolerant. Up to you. What’s NOT up to you is to demand people change for your comfort.
Do I need tall ceilings for a four post bed??
Hi Erin – do you know where the bed in the top picture is from? Thanks!
Any suggestions for a bedframe for an exceptionally tall husband (aka no footboard) and a not-so- large bedroom? Our master suite has a strange rectangular shape and while the closets and bathroom are great, the room is…tough to work with. Thanks!
Very timely as we recently purchased a split king adjustable bed and need a frame. Do you have any insight on frames for adjustable beds? From what I can tell, if you can remove the mattress slats from the bottom of the frame the adjustable base can then just be dropped in. Any other readers with real world experience? We are looking at four poster models…
@Bente We have an adjustable Queen bed and did exactly what you suggest here. Our bed is a wooden frame similar to the four poster at the top left (but without the canopy frame). The adjustable bed has its own little legs which sit on the floor inside the wooden frame. It’s a tight fit but works for us.
Lulu, thank you! Seems like frames should work as long as the slats aren’t placed. I love our split king- room for both of us and the dog but most importantly no more snoring from my husband! I will look at Red Land Cotton. Have a couple of sets from Boll and Branch that we’ve been happy with but always on the lookout for more.
We bought a split king adjustable mattress set used it with an upholstered frame from Serena and Lily. The bed delivery guys just didn’t install the slats, and then the mattresses came with their own adjustable frames/feet and fit right inside. It worked out really well! Don’t get me started on finding good sheets though- say goodbye to cute sets. I’ve used Red Land Cotton so I can buy the deep, fitted twins and flat king separately, and the quality is great.
Elizabeth- thank you so much! Your bed sounds a lot like what we are looking at. I do worry about the fit as the bed moves but it doesn’t currently mess with the wall so I assume it wouldn’t mess with the frame either. A bit nerve racking as so many items are special order and can’t be returned…
Could you provide a link for the bench at the end of bed pls?
Love these beds, can you do a blog on favorite bedding, duvet covers and luxury sheets
Would LOVE to see bedding/pillow idea options too!
Can you provide link for bottom right bed
Never mind :)
