Lately I have been hard up for these gorgeously bold yet sophisticated green and blue combinations I’ve been seeing… I pretty much died over this lacquered study by Tharon Anderson in this month’s House Beautiful:
The sofa color with the wall color is soft and yet bold- and really genius!
The green in this room by Steven Gambrel is a bit bolder, but the pairing still has the same fresh feel:
Sarah Bartholomew’s den also features a bolder version of this combination ( I adore this room!)
An example of working this color scheme into your home in a smaller way…
I love this mix- the floor, sofa and chairs go together so well in color, pattern and scale…
Green painted millwork with a blue patterned paper for a child’s room? Yes please!
I pulled some great items to help you get this look in your own space (in a big or small way!)
1. // 2. // 3. l to r: Woad, Jadeite,Pale Azure, Veronese Green (all Ben Moore Century) // 4. // 5. border pillow–paisley pillow–ikat pillow // 6. // 7. // 8. // 9. // 10. // 11.
The sofa color with the wall color is soft and yet bold- and really genius! Really
Do you know the fabric pattern that is on the pillow with the red pleat trim on page81? Anyone – I cant find it
That Steven Grambel room was the inspiration for my northern Michigan cottage many years ago when it appeared in House Beautiful. Still love it! And I was just admiring Tharon’s room ! Thanks for bringing so much great design to your readers.
Love this green combination! The tulips are gorgeous!
I love blue and green. I found some pictures of the 2004 Ralph Lauren showcase house and fell in love. I love their use of blue and green in that house.
A charming combination … looks beautiful from one element to another. Also with the flower, what flower do you put in pots?
Love that lacquered wall and anything green and #blueandwhiteforever has my heart. :)
Would love to see your review of the 2017 Met Gala red carpet.
I’m blue and white forever but I’m loving your combos with green. Pinned that Ikat pillow. How could I not?

I am not, as we say in my family, a blue person. However, for the past several months I have been feeling drawn to it. I’ve already decided that with my next move navy is going to be a big player and I have been pinning navy/white combos all over my boards. I love the softness and freshness of this color combo, and I’m so pleased you shared it with us. Many thanks for a gorgeous blog (per usual).
I really really like these colors. A perfect choice for summer >.< Thank you for sharing!
All the blue sofas are so good! Such a good combo for spring!

Erin! Thank you so much for including us. So flattered and grateful to be on here as I’m a daily reader of EOS for 10+ years!
Love this color combo, too! Living on the coast it gets hard to be inspired by all the white and blue that I love.. it just doesn’t always work. Great option! You should vacay in Naples one time. You would love it!
This is why I love your blog.
Where can we get those to-die-for green and white parrot tulips? Swooning over here…..
I think part of the allure of this combo is grass and sky. It’ s the outdoors indoors. It naturally goes together.
You nailed it on the head! Of course these colors are pleasing together–they are the essence of a summer day!
