I’ve been wanting to show you all how the Abbott Medicine Cabinet and/or Wall Mirror can be used in a bathroom design, so today we’ve put together a cute, simple design that could be used in a guest bathroom, powder room or even a kids bath.
I would switch out the hardware on this Pottery Barn vanity to match the brass tones in the rest of the design. You could also paint the trim and any millwork in a coordinating blue color (I have Benjamin Moore Blue Heather here) to match the adorable Lulie Wallace wallpaper.
I wanted to have the Abbott Mirror made into a medicine cabinet because we are always looking for interesting medicine cabinets and have found that option are really limited! As we think more about any new designs, I’d love to hear from you – what else are you looking for and can’t quite seem to find? More medicine cabinets? Bigger medicine cabinets? Floor mirrors, wall mirrors? Let me know in the comments!
Lovely picks as always – agree about med cabinet. I couldn’t click the link for the towel hanger and hardware. Also, would this wallpaper work for a bath that gets decent ventilation but daily use?
Bigger medicine cabinets would be welcome. When I was renovating my bathroom, I wanted a double wide medicine cabinet, but the only prefab ones I could find were those modern, frameless ones. Lots of them are really ugly. I ended up putting two medicine cabinets side by side, which is a little odd, but works okay. We could’ve framed out a plain mirror to size, but we really need the storage, and a custom medicine cabinet is not where I wanted to allocate the budget.
I would love mire medicine cabinets! I like the Abbott one but would love it even more if it had a couple more useful features or add-on options:
– Interior enlargement mirror on inside face of door
– interior outlets
– maybe even an interior light?
As always – beautiful ideas and products. I love the eye candy! What I would love to hear about is how your renovation is going. What has gone well, what has been difficulty, what you’ve learned or would recommend to others, how living in the rental has been; all the stuff!
More medicine cabinets, please! It’s hard to find good quality cabinets made in durable materials. When I redid my bathrooms recently, I ended up removing the original 1970’s medicine cabinets and repainting/refurbishing them because I found the options available greatly lacking. Also, I prefer recessed over surface-mounted, but know that choice means additional framing behind the drywall which sometimes won’t work if plumbing, etc., is in the way. A variety of width options and surface finishes too, please!
I tired to post a minute ago but it disappeared–apologies if this is a repeat. My daughter just installed this vanity in her daughters’ bathroom. It is located next to the commode so she’s looking for one or two baskets for the lower shelf. She’s trying to store a roll or two of toilet paper plus sanitary items to have at the ready.
There are lots of options – you can try a place like Container Store that has many sizes, or Target – we love this one!
Timely post. My daughter just put that vanity in her daughters’ bathroom. It is located next to the commode. She’s looking for baskets (one or two) for the shelf to store a roll or two of toilet paper or sanitary products, at the ready as it were.
