Akin to “florals for spring”, “suede for fall” is nothing groundbreaking. It’s always in, but this year it’s REALLY in. Especially in shoes, bags, belts and accessories. I am such a sucker for suede shoes – loafers, heels, boots – sign me up. They are soft, and textural and always add an element of coziness to an outfit. On my list for fall – a big suede bag and tall suede heeled boots (to cowboy or not to cowboy is the question). The one thing I’m struggling with is penny loafers… I was born in 1979 and that footwear is very closely associated with my tormented middle school years… so, we’ll see! Here’s a round up of my favorites thus far:
Suede will work in Seattle … well, don’t go out in a pouring rain. But I always waterproof my shoes. I have to. Have several pairs of suede flats and booties.
Do you have any care tips for suede? Protection sprays you like? I love suede but Pittsburgh fall/winter weather wears hard on shoes especially. Thanks!
