We’re taking our first trip to the beach with Henry this weekend and am so glad to have one of these Hollie & Harrie Sombrilla canopies to bring with us to keep him out of the sun! Old school umbrellas are such a pain to carry and when the wind blows…forget it! Chasing an umbrella down the beach as it acts like a giant dart isn’t my idea of F-U-N.
I’m loving the patterns and colors and the fact that it’s got high and low sun “settings”.
And it’s super light and easy to carry- and when heading to the beach with family, there is already enough to lug around.
I’m so happy to welcome Hollie & Harrie to the EOS Sponsor family! As I plan for this trip I wanted to round up a nice beach-day look for grown ups and kids- and some fun things to pack to make the day enjoyable!
Love your posts and the canopy looks amazing! That plunging one piece by J crew–what do you think of the length? I have a freakishly long torso and I’m always afraid of getting the permanent wedgie with one piece swimsuits.
I have a super long torso also and I only buy j. crew one pieces that are offered in long torso. So if it is offered it long torso, you should be good.
Super! Thanks!
Safe sun screen is a must. Love the canopy!
Love it! Do you use round beach towels? I just wrote about them on my blog yesterday. I’ve never tried one, but am super curious.

We learned from experience that babies can get sunburned from the reflection off the sand and water even if they are covered so make sure he has sunscreen on anyway. Have a great time…I bet he is adorable in his little swim trunks!
That is ingenious!!! I do not have any more babies to shelter from the sunshine, but do like to put myself underneath to protect my own aging skin!!!!
This canopy looks amazing. Is it easy to set up?? Would love to know. Thanks!
Hi Stephanie,
It’s so easy to set up, take a look at our little video on the website here: https://hollieandharrie.com.au/shop/sombrilla/
I can let you know after this weekend!
Would also love to know about setting it up.
That adorable striped tunic by Boden, would you size up one to make sure it’s comfy as a swimsuit cover up or go for regular size. It’d adorable! And that beach tent would make a fun play space in the back yard for kids…
Erin- do you remember how long it took for shipping? I need mine by next Friday…
THANKS!!!
Hi Susan,
Erin is right, it takes 3-5 business days to ship (from CA).

I don’t! :( I think about a week?
Literally just arrived at the beach yesterday. So fun! I definitely wish I had one of those aweosme canopies, though! Noted for next time :) Hope you have an amazing beach experience!

That canopy looks amazing, so much better than what we had when our kids were little.
Loved your posts this week – so busy at work haven’t been able to comment, but I admire so much your analysis and writing, whether its about a an amazing pool house kitchen (whaaaat) or motherhood.
Ooh this is a great concept. I’m so fair that I’m getting even more mindful of the sun on my skin – I was never a hat person but it’s become a great tool for keeping the intense sun off of my face and neck. Tinted mineral sunscreen for my face is part of my arsenal now too since I find I break out with the regular stuff and am bad at re-applying if I’ve put makeup on as well.
Now I want to go to the beach!
