OK guys, it’s FINALLY gotten cold here in New England (#globalwarming) and it’s time to pull out the coats! Or better yet, invest in a new coat! There are so many great styles out there right now, and so I’ve identified what I see as the biggest trends and picked some fab choices for you. Because where we live we spend like 50% of the year only seeing each other in coats, it’s important to have a few good choices. And so much is on sale it’s the perfect time to treat yo’ self.
A little extra today, as I am currently OBSESSED (i.e. ordering too many of) luxe flat in yummy textures, patterns or with fun details.
I love velvet shoes – I have a pair that are in desperate need of replacing, these are all great candidates.
All of the coats are fantastic…we don’t have an opportunity to wear them much here in Houston, but we get some December/January days that make me think I better have something on hand besides my slicker.
I have a closet full of costs & jackets for just that reason. When that is all most people see from Nov. thru March, you want to change it up, plus you need outer wear for different occasions and varied weather. One I don’t have is a leopard. I look at them and try them on, but I’m not sure it’s me. I have a leopard belt, a few scarves and two tops but the coat seems like too much. Now, if someone wanted to lend me one to wear for the day to see if I’m loving it, I wouldn’t say no. 😉
Great roundup, Erin!
Ditto on being seen mostly in your coat much of the year. A good coat suited for your climate with dark rinse jeans and booties and you’re good.
I never thought about how coats are what people see us in 50% of the time (well at least if you are on the east coast) and that it is totally justifiable to spend money to get more than one that are fashionable! Most of mine are black and pretty versatile but nothing fun or overly fashion forward b/c I was trying to be practical. Thanks for the point of view!
Erin, I recently found a Lands End version of the Canada Goodse jacket for 1/3 the price!
Oops…that’s Canada Goose!
Since you have such great variety already (awesome round-up!) I just thought I’d put a plug in for a brand I recently discovered–Vaute Couture. I’m not vegan, but very much looking to put my money towards more mission-based, ethical brands when I can and they could not be better in that department! Also, their stuff is just really cute and warm. https://vautecouture.com/ (And just FYI, I am not affiliated with this brand at all–I was just recently introduced to them by a friend and want to help spread the word!) xoxo
Thank you for sharing this company. I was dreading schlepping around to find a non- down replacement for my old J Crew puffer coat.I ordered 2 coats from vaute and can’t wait to get them!
LOVE THESE!!!! Thanks for sharing!
#1 has a collar; 4 & 5 don’t. Totally different. Understandable.
Wow!! The new website looks phenomenal, so amazing! Great post as always – hope everything is great – shop looks fantastic!
