I like looking at runway shows, but rarely do I ever see whole outfits I would actually WEAR (minus some Oscars gowns, of course!) But when I saw the Celine 2020 show, I was AMAZED at how realistic the outfits were- and so French-girl chic. Simple, classic and so much denim- which really pleases me, the “wears jeans every single day” kind of gal. Also, I guess flare/ bell bottom jeans are going to be back in this spring, according to Celine?

Of course, very few of us can actually afford REAL Celine, so I gathered up a wardrobe of affordable styles that capture this look- floral dresses, denim, white peasant blouses, faux fur, all black, classic blazers and boucle jackets, slouchy boots and crisp sneakers.

Gah Erin!!! Between these Celine jeans and that little women post I am screwed. I’ve been wearing an Alicia adams alpaca throw to pretend I am
Jo March in her shawl and don’t think I can live wo the real deal Celine denim.
Great post!! Thank you!
Yes, I’ve read that flare/bell bottoms are back, and I do not oppose! So tired of straight skinny high waisted jeans being the only thing out there to purchase. Even when in, they are not in for me. My rule of thumb is wear what looks good on your body type and ignore the trends.
now we are talking! love so much of this…thank you for putting together!
I also love the fashion runway shows. Though it isn’t affordable they do inspire our everyday styles. I now will watch Celine if it’s on line. Thanks for your affordable adaptations.
Love everything you picked.
My very fashionable sister-in-law wore very flared jeans at Thanksgiving and I wondered then if they were coming back…she’s usually just that ahead of the game! I love the classic look in this post. Thanks for sharing!
yay, so happy real woman jeans are back! I have been on an endless search for a trouser jean style – one that sits at the waist, fitted at hip and drops straight but slightly widens at bottom. I purchased the wit & wisdom from Nordie’s online and really like the way they fit. only concern was a regular length seemed just a tad too short for me at 5’6″. Thanks for sharing that brand with us! My sister is a denim clothing designer and I keep begging her to make my dream jeans, fingers crossed. If you have not watched the Ralph Lauren bio on Showtime, DO, it’s so interesting and every image (clothes, models or home) is feast for me eyes and quite inspiring.
Try the other pair linked here- the Dojo. I think it might be perfect for you
Love the vest! Do you have a suggestion for that?
Yes!
That studded jacket is “da bomb!!” Totally cute!! franki
I could wear those looks (and often do!). Love the post. Love fashion Fridays.
What about that Navy Vest in the first outfit!!! I love that! Where can I find a dup for that!!! :)
Also beautifully timeless – would look great on a 25 year old or 65 year old and all ages in between. Classics for a reason, which is where a lot of environmentally-conscious people are heading instead of buying something new every 5 minutes and then throwing it out. Great post, Erin!
