Fashion Friday: The Velvet Suit

This season holiday dressing seems to be about two things- the velvet suit and feathers. I’m starting with the easier trend to embrace which is the velvet suit (really any suit, sans typical workforce blouse). I am OBSESSED with the VB one above. Here are some finds in a few price points and some of the items I use when I have to wear deep V cut tops- at this point, I basically create a whole scaffolding system :) LOL. But adding a strategically placed snap can take a jacket from too daring to just sexy enough. These suits also look amazing layered with a bustier, bodysuit or bra, if you’re feeling extra spicy.

If I ever grow 5-foot long legs I’ll give one of these suits a try. Lol!
I bought the pink velvet pants from J. Crew. The color is killer but the pants are disappointing. They don’t really drape, I guess because the fabric is more like velveteen than velvet. Also pricey for what they are. I am returning them.

Wow! You really did give us a price spread! That Banana Republic suit is very reasonable. And they all look fantastic. If I were tall and leggy, I’d be wearing that everywhere this holiday season.
