All these Zoom meetings have got me ready to head right to the dermatologist once this pandemic is over (unless there is backyard Botox happening somewhere???) I know a lot of us are working only via Zoom or the like, and still want to look presentable yet be comfy since we are working at home or alone. So today I paired some Zoom outfit ideas (I.e. business up top, couch party below) with some beauty products to help you look your best on screen.
LOOK 1: A rather formal blouse paired with comfy denim, slipper-like loafers and bold earrings. A matte face with a little flush looks better on screen than shiny and pale skins, so this mattifying powder and liquid blush are faves of mine.
LOOK 2: Seriously cozy joggers hide under the desk while up to a ruffled top, sparkly earrings and cute headband make you look pulled together. I’ve been feeling super tired (ya know, new baby, work, PANDEMIC) so eye masks and a super full coverage concealer with some illumination is key to not looking totally haggard on Zoom.
LOOK 3: I love this sweater tee- great for now and fall- paired with black denim, leather slides, and of course some statement coin earrings. Even out your complexion with this full coverage CC cream that is super hydrating and add a little glow with a bronzer.
LOOK 4: White jeans and a sweater is my jam on cooler summer/ early fall days. This cashmere tee is clean and fitted, add this fun scarf to your ponytail or around your neck and since no one will know, sneakers. A simple way to illuminate eyes– this amazing cream shadow and toxin-free mascara (I used both almost every day now)
LOOK 5: Pull on joggers in a fun print will feel like pajamas, so will these furry lined mules, but paired with colored cashmere and a super bold necklace you’ll look ready to take on the world from the waist up :) When offscreen do some nice masks to plump the skin and did you know blue light from our devices actually does damage the skin? This sunscreen with red algae helps mitigate that!
LOOK 6: My staple sweater blazer (I have about 5) paired with a tunic length cami and bold long necklace can be paired with leggings easily! These new Rothy loafers are so fun AND comfy too. I am not a big lipstick person, but you don’t want your lips looking washed out and dry on screen- this stain topped with this oil based light gloss is natural but defining.
I love this blog, but I LOVE your fashion posts. This seems like a silly request, but could you do a fashion post for what to wear to a lake house? You have a beautiful way of making everything look so classy yet youthful. Thank you!!
When you are putting up these boards, thanks for making them so varied. I am going through a love affair with Sunday Riley products after you posted about them. Now, I’m wondering about the NARS blush.
Such a great post, as always! Even for those of us who are retired but would like to look comfortably presentable for SD patio cocktails or masked errands. Thank your for such great ideas!
This article gives clear idea for the new users of blogging,
that in fact how to do running a blog.
Great post! You have a natural talent for putting these things together and I greatly appreciate it! Love the fresh ideas while maintaining a classic look. Very impressive for someone being able to do this with a new baby and young son. To add my two cents on the makeup, I highly recommend Revision Tinted Moisturizer (skin care + a light coverage) in the true physical formula, as well as Bobbi Brown eye shadow sticks. Add some Kosas lipstick (I’m a fan of the Rosewater shade) and you appear pulled together. :)
Thanks for the great options! Love the variety of looks you provided and it inspires me to put in a little more effort. I’ve been stuck I. Then neck sweater and dark jeans routine but do manage to throw on some great jewelry, a little lipstick and a hint of perfume. No one else can enjoy the fragrance but it makes me feel more confident and happy.
I absolutely love your outfit ideas. You have lovely taste
So many things added to my cart! I always love your fashion posts. Like you, I own several of the sweater coats; I’m adding a new color right now! :)
You know you can and should be living your life! Covid is fake news, 99.5 % recovery! Why are you so afraid?
Courtney, I think you should take a hard look at you question and think….. why am I not more afraid? Where am I getting my information?… and then look up this thing called myocarditis, and then look up this other thing called heart failure and myocarditis in young people with mild cases of covid 19 …. and then ask yourself… do I like to run with my kids and exercise and living this seemingly oblivious life where I have no real contact with the healthcare system (I’m assuming you have the privilege of good health) …. there are lots of reasons that are coming out in the data supporting somehow avoiding getting coronavirus if you can. Or…. if you still question it, here is a quote from my best friend who was working in an ICU at the height of the first wave in Massachusetts “you do not want this virus, we are really not sure what to do to help these patients, I do not wish this on my worst enemy. Try to avoid it if you can.” If you get to work in Zoom, enjoy the privilege and prevent spreading this to your friends and family.
Is it “fake news” all over the world, too? I know young, healthy, people who have had COVID and it was terrible.
Sadly, we will all die. Science is showing that those deaths are very old people and compromised individuals who are also mostly old. If dying is the concern, statistically we will die of many other things heart disease, cancer, accidents, flu, etc.
Hi Courtney! Just wanted to let you know that I agree 100%! It is sad to see people not living their lives out of fear. Life is a risk. More people die every day from car accidents then the virus. I wear a mask and social distance if that is what is required, but I have talked to plenty of health care professionals that say the mask wearing does nothing. The media has scared the crap out of everyone. It disgusts me that our economy, cities and families are being destroyed by the hyperbolic reporting being done. Grocery store workers have been exposed since the very beginning. You would think they would have to stack the dead bodies in the refrigerated section if this is so deadly. 90% of the deaths are people over 55 with underlying conditions. Are there seemingly healthy people that die? Of course, but the number is very small. Viva la Vida!
First, you should not judge someone’s personal choice when they aren’t putting anyone in danger. Based on your comment, I assume you’re not wearing a mask or social distancing and that you’re “living your life”, so I will judge you. If I’m wrong, then I apologize for my assumption.
Second, Please tell your stat to the 5th grader I taught last year who’s mother died of Covid in April. No pre-existing conditions, not immuno-compromised. The 5th grader is left parentless, as she was a single mother, and continues to fight leukemia.
But we do thing to prevent that don’t we? Wear seatbelts? Get check ups? Vaccinations? We don’t just walk into traffic and say “well, I’ll die some day”.
Tell that to the families of the 173,000 dead people.
Courtney that 99.5% recovery or survival is a terrible stat. That 0.5% recovery you mention is what you get if you divide all the people who have had it And haven’t had it. Not sure where anyone decided that was a relevant stat while the spread continues. You would never do that with say cancer to show survival rates are better. Mortality is over 3%. And if you get intubated, mortality is over 4O!!!!
Could you tell me where the earrings are from in look 4? They are so pretty!
Love this! I was laughing out loud and loving the zoom make up recommendations. also, i’m pretty sure there IS backyard Botox happening…just saying…
Great post!
It’s that time again! Last week our photographer sent out her fall mini session schedule and I’m already thinking (and stressing!) about what we are going to wear. Maybe some cohesive family looks for these sessions in an upcoming Fashion Friday?!
I’m leaning towards investing in casual clothing since that’s all I’m likely to be wearing for the next year. I do not like how much animation my face loses when I’m wearing a mask. Maybe a future post on makeup for masks? Since we’ll be doing this for a while….
Thanks for your tips. Love a good Fashion Friday!
