Huston & Company: Custom Tables of All Sizes and Styles
Huston & Company is a father and son run small business based in Kennebunkport, Maine and I’ve talked about them a bunch because we’ve done a lot of work with them– from tables for my own home and office to many variations of tables for our clients as well. Dining tables are one of the top items I always encourage my clients to spend a good chunk of money on. You can save on chairs – after all, they get spills on them and you can get a decent quality chair for not a ton of money. However, a dining table should be solidly made, enough so that it can last a lifetime or three. The quality of their tables falls squarely in the “heirloom” category. You can see these being passed down to your kids after a lifetime of growing up eating at the same table.
This is the round version of the Newton table, which was a design we came up with when creating a table for my office. I love this table, it’s the perfect blend of modern and traditional and the brass accents are just incredible.

I wanted to show not only some cool iterations of the tables I’ve designed with Huston, but also some of the other custom designs they’ve done (as they can really make you ANYTHING you can dream up- from working from your own sketch of inspiration imagery to maybe recreating a style from the past). It’s a really fun and painless process, so don’t be intimidated by the idea of a “bespoke” piece of furniture.
To help you picture one in your own home, I paired each Huston & Co. table with chairs and lighting that I think coordinates perfectly!
- The classic Gates table paired with a simple Windsor chair and beaded chandelier.
- This modern raw edge table we commissioned for one of our clients, I paired it with a woven leather chair and modern triple arm chandelier.
- This table is a streamlined take on a classic style, so I paired it with a timeless Louis style chair done in buffalo check and a multi-shaded chandelier.
- This is a custom Gates table but done with a cool zinc top! I paired it with these leather and iron chairs and a linear lantern style chandelier.
- The classic Gates trestle table in a grey wash, paired with striped linen host chairs, bistro style side chairs and an oversize pendant shaded fixture.
- This petite round table looks great with green Chinoiserie chairs and this fabulously detailed lantern fixture.
Two new introductions to their line beyond dining tables are the Newton coffee table, based on the design we did for my office conference table, shown here in two different finishes (you can customize your finish to be anything you wish)…
…And the Shovel Chair, which is such a fabulously sculptural piece perfect as an accent chair in a small bedroom or around a simple, modern Tulip table!

To anyone thinking about buying a table for them… DO IT!!! I had them make a table for me about 6 years ago and it’s still in amazing shape (and I have 4 kids!)!! The craftsmanship is second to none… the people are so nice to work with… really an amazing product!!!!! Can’t wait to have an occasion to get another table from them…..

To add new beauty standards to our houses these tables and chairs are perfect.In fact such creative furniture are giving new decoration goals and I think that this furniture will be a big hit.
#3 is my favorite blend of classy and durable combination set. Shovel chair has also pulled my liking to it. I am definitely going to look into your recommendation of this American brand. :)

Great furniture! #2& #6 are terrific. Could you add a coat tree to your designs? Our guests tire of piling coats on our bed.

These are gorgeous! But, none seem to have leaves. I’d love to see a roundup of more “covertible” furniture.

I love #1 and #6 in your coordinating designs! Both would fit perfectly in my 1865 farmhouse. I’ve been looking for THE perfect Windsor chair for awhile now.
