I just realized I already did a post about our playroom, but now that the gym and bathroom are done, I rethought things and think I may do something different. Now that we have a full bath downstairs, this room needs to serve as a guest room as well as playroom so I want it to be fun but also easy to tidy up for extra guests. I’m thinking now of doing a moody grey blue wall to coordinate with the velvet sleeper sectional I ordered. And while I already used my new ikat Rhys paper in the gym, I just LOVE it in this colorway and think it would be a great accent wall on the back wall. When I received the sample of this new playful Schumacher fabric that has both the right blue and a hint of the green from the bathroom off this space, I thought it would be the perfect roman shade fabric.
bookshelves // bins // wallpaper // roman shade fabric // sleeper sofa // sofa pillow fabric // side table // play table and chairs // beanbag // similar zebra ottoman // media center // playmat
The media center fits perfectly in the nook where the TV is hung. Eventually I want to take that patch of tile out and put down new carpet but maybe not right now (I.e. bleeding money).
HA, Baxter in his diaper is cracking me up. On that back wall ideally I’d do built ins but financially I gotta save up for the kitchen/ master suite- so I’m thinking I’ll paper that wall, add those CB2 wall mounted bookcases to the sides, hand some framed kids art in the middle and call it a day.
Obviously these pics were taken before the gym was completed so we have no treadmill and that train table is gone, so there is actually a ton of space. We now have our Cedarworks playset down there instead, which Emma loves and calls “Weeeeeeee”. :)
Stay tuned! Sofa and media center due in January (maybe- we’ll see, I do not hold out hope!). So this will be an easy room to transform for the kids, who spend SO much time down here now!
Looks gorgeous! Just FYI, we have a couch in Pottery Barn’s performance plush velvet and it is a lint catching monster. I just ordered a slipcover in their chenille basket weave because I can’t lose more hours of my life to fuzz busting.
This is really chic and playful. Will be magazine-worthy and have not seen any other rooms like it. Wow.
Can’t wait until you are done so we can get a full tour! You have accomplished SO much in a year. (not even)
Poor Baxter, our almost 16 year old dog is incontinent. She is only allowed in the office and kitchen. She is majorly prone to UTI’s so she can’t wear diapers. So it’s Chux pads that save us and her being outside all day which she prefers thank goodness! We have gone through a case is less than 3 weeks. :(
Love this combo!
Cedarworks playsets are the best! We *just* phased my nine-year-old’s out in favor of a “big kid” playroom with more room for the horse collection, better seatine, etc., but it was so great for rainy, cold winters.
Your house is looking so great! I love that you’re trying to make do and aren’t blowing tons of money- it’s more realistic for most of us and I for one appreciate it and am learning a lot!
I love the Schumacher fabric that you pick out.
I’ve been a Schumacher devote for many years.
