One of my favorite features of our new house is the outdoor space – it’s SO magnificent and truly one of the most life-changing aspects of our move. As soon as we saw it, I could picture entertaining out on the patio and deck. We do plan to eventually redo the old brick patio with bluestone, but in the meantime we could not wait to dress it all up with new furniture. Enter one of my longtime (and favorite) partners, Frontgate, who helped me really make it a special place to spend time – especially during the pandemic when being outside was the only way to see friends and family safely!

Here are some overall views of the spaces:
The listing photos show it more completely, but not in bloom, which really makes it even MORE gorgeous. We plan to eventually use stone veneer to cover the barn foundation, the whole house and barn are being painted this summer and eventually…. EVENTUALLY… we may put a small gunite pool off the barn and make one of the lower bays into a little pool cabana. I gotta sell a lot of rugs first :)
I decided I wanted to go really classic with the furniture on the patio, and so I went with this gorgeous resin wicker set that looks so much like real wicker, but is SUPER tough and durable. And SOOOOO comfortable. Everyone who sits on it comments on how amazingly comfortable it is. I complemented the style with some green tones in the pillows to add subtle color that blends with the yard, and a nice big umbrella to provide shade.
I mixed in some weathered teak and modern accent tables as well as a few planters with boxwood to define the edge of the patio a bit.
It really is the perfect spot for some wine in the evening!
Some other great outdoor pillows (most on sale too!)
I used these chaises in the showhouse I did with Frontgate in Atlanta, and I’ve been dying to own them myself ever since! They are my happy spot now! I did the cushions in Dove Stripe, which matches the color of the large umbrella. I love them SO much. We’ve also used this firepit to make s’mores with Henry and friends and it was a BIG hit.

On the deck off the family room, we used the set from our old house (also from Frontgate) and it fits perfectly and allows us to expand the table with self storing leaves, which I love. We added another big umbrella as there is NO shade up on the deck. We also plan on staining the deck a more grey tone soon as well.

I’m so grateful to Frontgate for partnering with me on this – their products have always been so reliable in quality and beautiful to boot. :)

I’m not sure what I like best…..the chaises, the yard, the house, the wine or the s’mores!?? AHHHHHHHH! Really looks great, Erin.
PS – I’ve used furniture covers only to find that a family of squirrels decided to crawl under and make a nest!!!! Blech!!!! So check under the cover often if you live in a high traffic squirrel neighborhood!
So lovely! Just a word of caution on the bluestone – it gets very, very hot and chips easily. You will have to repair joints and replace pieces every year, especially after a hard New England winer. There are so many wonderful products on the market that wear better that you might want to research.
The patio is beautiful. I have the exact same Frontgate resin wicker furniture set on our pergola. My original Frontgate furniture covers ripped and I replaced them with the Vailge covers from Amazon which are nice and heavy. I do cover the furniture every night to keep the cushions clean and dry. I’m looking for a storage box for the covers now as they end up on the ground. Enjoy the patio!
Beautiful- gorgeous property!
Beautiful! How fortunate that the azalea is white!
Curious to hear from all you homeowners with this kind of fab outdoor space: do you haul the cushions in and out every time you use them, or do you let them get rained on and damp from dew every morning and just hope they’ll be dry by the time you want to use them?
I used to haul the cushions in each time that rain threatened, but recently got furniture covers that I found on Amazon. I believe the brand is Vailge. Total game changer, can’t believe I didn’t do it years ago.
Love it. Even love the brick but the bluestone will be fabulous.
