I feel like I’m constantly saying this these days, but I’m really struggling to get my blog posts up on the schedule I have set for myself. So I’m here to admit that I may be a little more sporadic than normal this week and next as I work from home/the barn and try to catch up on all the design work (and other exciting projects I have in the works). I have a lot I want to share, it’s just I’ve been very “chicken with my head cut off” as of late with my schedule and I also am dealing with a bit of burnout, admittedly. I haven’t even had time to order any of the furniture for my house, and my creativity is suffering a bit currently with the office move, parenting, stress, etc. Just need to regroup a little it! So thanks for your patience.
I appreciate the support and your dedication to this blog, and promise to get back to regularly scheduled programming soon!
XO,
Erin
Take all the time you need. We’ll be here waiting when you return.
We love you. Give yourself grace and know we understand. Rest always gives me a surge of creativity. Allow yourself that if you can. Its so hard for all of us to accept our human need for rest! Why do americans think its shameful to need rest and leisure? The italians have a term ” Dolce Far Niente” the art of doing nothing!
I think it’s great that you still do a blog and keep the good work up while everyone else is only doing social media and no good old blogging anymore! cheers from Zurich
Dude. I am happy if you post every once in awhile! Go easy on yourself! You do so much. I’m happy when I put away the laundry 😂
You have to give yourself a break. It is hard to be a type A. We are harder on ourselves than any boss could be. In our 24/7 world it is so hard to turn it off. I shut my store down for the last 48 hours and left town for a brief respite and am so glad that I did.
Awww, take your time, honey! Life is tough and you have a ton on your plate rn. I appreciate your blog posts so much! Hang in there – kids get so much easier when they’re older and need less constant physical hands-on supervision, I promise you ;)
I don’t know anyone who is not struggling on some level right now. Treat yourself lovingly.
What! I pay good… oh wait, this valuable content is totally free? Carry on. ;)
It’s ok, take care!
As someone else said, you are setting the best example by saying that you need to take some time. We are willing to wait for another post and will appreciate it all the more knowing that you feel a bit more rested. Be well.
I think we’ll all be here when you get back. Hope you’re able to make the most of your time away from the blog.
Hang in there! Love your posts but I would not love them as much if I knew they were causing you tons of stress! Enjoy those babes.
Take care of yourself, your husband and family. We love your blog and we will be here.
Take as much time off the blog as you wish. Your Instagram posts are interesting, fun and enough to keep us all satisfied while you deal with all the change in your life right now. Just the photos of Henry and Emma are enough as far as I’m concerned – Rest! These are stressful times.
Please do not stress over a blog
Stay calm and allow only what is important at the moment

This is “No-Guilt!” Tuesday, okay?
I get my second Covid vaccine tomorrow, and even if I don’t have severe side effects, I plan to go to bed for two days and regroup. This has been absolutely the worst year ever, relieved only by our good health (salvaged by obsession-level social isolation) and the delight of getting to know our beautiful granddaughter (whom I haven’t held in my arms since October!). So know that everyone is stressed, Erin, and you are in the company of millions of women in these struggles to find balance and satisfaction in life. We will get through this! We will dine out and travel and drop in on friends and hug our loved ones until they squeal. We will, we will!!
You are human and sharing that it’s not always easy for you is yet one more reason that makes you relatable. We all have days that are harder than others. Hang in there sounds trite but it’s the beat I have at the moment!
Erin,
Thank you for caring about all of us but we can wait. Your busy wonderful life is the most important thing.
We aren’t going anywhere & we appreciate you! <3
Happy to see this post. You are setting a wonderful example for others to encourage take a moment when needed. Thank you
You are amazing! Be kind to yourself and take a much needed breather.
Take all the time you need – we’ll be here when you return!!
Girlfriend! You’ve been through a lot! We’ve all had (and are still having) a super weird year. Plus you JUST MOVED! Give yourself a pass. You are rocking it and you owe no one anything.
Always put yourself and family first, we will be here
Deep breaths…..even jugglers only have two hands. You and your family come first, the rest will come into place. You may just have to “juggle” priorities for a bit. I am sure your followers want what’s best for you and will not forget you if Blog is a bit delayed. It will give us something to look forward to.
The struggle is real. Take your time, regroup, catch your breathe and we will all be waiting patiently for your return. Don’t be too hard on yourself. Everyone needs a little time :) Happy Monday!
You are doing such a great job with all that is on your plate! You are such a great mama! You just moved into a new home. Keep in mind your family does not care if your home is furnished yet. Only you do and it takes time. Give yourself a pat on the back! Glad to patiently wait for any blog updates. Have a glass of wine and kick your feet up! You are a rockstar and I am in awe how you balance it all with such grace and confidence! Hang in there!
You don’t have to do everything. Things slide. Some business goals and clients suffer. You have to put yourself first before anything or even family. Your mental health, and self love must come first, then everything that needs to fall in place will. And things that fall off weren’t suppose to happen.
Girlie! There is no need to apologize!! We are here for whenever and whatever!!!!
Eric, Take all the time you need! I have no doubt everyone understands and will be faithfully waiting when you’re ready to resume.
I saw the stack of boxes in your old office and thought, whoa! How does she do it.??
I hope you take all the time you need to recharge your batteries. Thank you for years of great posts, I started when you were pregnant with Henry and revealing your house remodel.
All the best, Dee – an architect in CA enjoying a hookey day poolside in Ojai
Take time and regroup. I, for one, will be looking forward to hearing all you have to share once things calm down a bit!
This in and of itself is an incredibly inspiring blog post. I think more of us women need to recognize and verbalize when we need to slow down and take a break to take care of ourselves and regroup. So, a huge round of applause and thank you to you for posting this. You deserve and need the break I’m sure, and I’m 110% certain that none of us who are here in your community want to see your creativity fade away as it has inspired and uplifted so many of us for so very long. See you soon, when ever you’re ready. We’ll all still be here cheering you on. Big hugs!!
I completely agree. We all have times when some items on our to-do lists need to be put on the back burner to allow us to regroup and get ourselves together. It’s important to normalize this, so this is a great post and a lesson for us all.
Agreed with you both! I love the saying, “When things aren’t adding up, subtract”.
You just had two major moves from the most important places in your life! When we are ‘normally’ stressed we go to the comfort of our family and home or the routine of our work place. Both have been uprooted. So take sometime for some fun, even if it’s only a night out or part of weekend. Then you may have a different perspective. Omg I’m probably sounding like your Mom! Lol. Wishing you the best Erin!
Take all the time you need. Be healthy and enjoy your beautiful family.
Please take care of yourself first. Trust me, though we all enjoy your blogs – non of us would want you to be stressed. Blog when you are ready and feeling good. Xoxo
Absolutely take time for you! NO question.
Love the idea of posting some older “favorite” ones. As someone new to you ( I know, what planet have I been on) ????
I would very much enjoy seeing them!
Breathe!!!
This should be fun, not a chore.
Of course Erin, take a break when you need to! I am sure your readers (including me) appreciate your dedication to the blog especially with everything you are juggling right now. I wonder how you do it all!
Renew yourself…. We love u!
Take your time! Good Grief! You have been great.
Will look forward to your blogs no matter when or how often they come.
You have a wonderful “voice”.
:-)
ML has it right. We will be here looking forward to a photo of the kids or whatever your voice has to say.
No worries, you have a lot on your plate. I am constanly amazed by all you accomplish! Take time when you need it, your loyal readers will be here when you return!
I agree with all the others urging you to take the time you need and be good to yourself — no guilt! And why not do some “throwback Thursday” type posts, featuring some old favorites? Your designs and style are timeless and many of us would love to revisit your earlier work.
Love this idea! Repost some of your faves that still ring true, or maybe call out a couple that are now “dated” (if any even exist!)
Absolutely, you take care of you first otherwise nothing else is affective. Hugs
Honestly, I have been amazed at how much you have accomplished at your new (to you) home! Plus had a baby, and now moved your office space! WOW!! In one years time!
Its been a rough – tough – without an real end in sight, sort of year, meaning from March 2020 to March 2021. Everyone says do not look back, keep your eye on the future. Still, I think, a lot of us DO have to look back to see what we have done vs what needs to be done. So much of the BS is beyond of our control!
Hang in there, many of us know where you are at, and fully understand a late blog post. Be well!
What Linda H said! And know you can always set a different schedule for yourself so you don’t feel like you are missing deadlines. We will still be dedicated followers and devotees no matter when you post! You’ve accomplished SO much!! Hang in there.
Go easy on yourself and step back when needed ! You’ve got this !!
I’m currently seeing social media is getting to a lot of us. So many are on burnout. My whole IG group is burned out. Something’s changing collectively.
