This is one of my most favorite holiday decor moments from my home, taken by Michael J. Lee for the Boston Globe in 2013. Seven years later I’d still use this same scheme!
With holiday time rapidly approaching, a lot of you are probably trying to plan your tables for entertaining- so I thought I’d pull together two schemes for inspiration using still available to ship goods from retailers. One bright and more “classic Christmas” and the other is more neutral.
1. plaid tablecloth 2. dinner plate 3. salad plate 4. gold flatware 5. stripe napkins 6. stockings to hang on the back of each chair (add a nametag if you are doing place cards) 7. etched glassware 8. weave a fresh garland down the middle of the table around candlesticks instead of a centerpiece 9. my favorite simple candlesticks in varying sizes 10. sleigh bell napkin rings
1. A linen runner 2. wood charger 3. simple dinner plate 4. my favorite Juliska salad plate 5. pretty vintage looking flatware 6. zinc candlesticks (LOVE!) 7. wine glasses 8. use two sizes of faux cedar trees in burlap down the center of the table 9. around each tree place ornaments like these mercury glass ones 10. antler napkin rings 11. gorgeous monogrammed napkins 12. & 13. use this rustic linen ribbon to tie a faux cedar wreath on the back of each chair.

I can’t get enough of the Juliska! Both table ideas are fantastic.
Love these table ideas! I started collecting the Juliska dishes a few years ago after seeing them on your blog. We host Christmas Eve, so I’m going to use them and your greenery ideas, plus family silver and white french opaline glasses. It’s so fun to plan the tablescape.
I love the pieces you chose! They’re amazing!
